Day Trip to Mindo

Spend the day in Mindo, a lush cloud forest town just outside of Quito, known for its biodiversity, misty landscapes, and slower pace. This full-day outing is designed to give you a taste of the rainforest without turning it into an endurance event.

We’ll depart Quito/Cumbayá in the morning and head to Mindo by private transportation. Once there, the day will include a guided walk through the cloud forest, where you’ll see dense vegetation, birds, orchids, and other wildlife unique to this ecosystem. The walk is gentle and accessible, with guides sharing context about the environment along the way.

After the forest walk, we’ll visit a local chocolate maker to learn about Ecuadorian cacao and the chocolate-making process (tastings included). There will also be time for lunch and a relaxed visit to a hummingbird garden, where you can see dozens of hummingbirds up close before heading back.

This is a full-day excursion with a relaxed pace and multiple stops. We’ll return to Quito/Cumbayá in the late afternoon. Full details on timing, transportation, and what’s included will be shared closer to the date.
